Somewhere along the way we became so focused on explaining the living body that we began to lose the DEEPER understanding of it.

WHAT MEDICINE FORGOT

Traditional and Vitalist Medicine

NEVER FORGOT

We have been taught to equate medicine with what can be physically measured and treated. Diagnose the pathology.

Identify the mechanism.

Give the drug.

Perform the surgery.

Correct the physical problem.

Those things can be enormously valuable.

But what happens when they dont entirely work?

Because your horses issues are more than physical problems.

There is experience.

Emotion. Environment.

Relationship. Energy. Spirit. Soul.

The whole living being.

Traditional and vitalist systems of medicine never forgot that.

Western reductionism largely removed it from the conversation. And because Western medicine has become culturally positioned as the ultimate authority on what is medically meaningful, people can begin to assume that anything outside its framework either doesn't matter or isn't real.

And the horse can suffer when we mistake one powerful part of medicine for the whole of medicine.

YOU ALREADY KNOW THIS BUT...

Somewhere along the way, we became so focused on explaining the living body that we began to lose a deeper understanding of it.

We learned to trust what we could measure.

What we could isolate.

What we could prove.

And slowly, we became less comfortable with what we could simply observe, experience and know.

But spend enough time with horses and nature, and it becomes difficult to believe that everything meaningful can be reduced to its measurable parts.

YOU FEEL IT

when you sense a change in your horse before you can explain what's different.

You know it when something shifts beneath your hands.

You know it when your horse responds to something you cannot see.

And you know it in those quiet moments when you stop analyzing long enough to simply experience the living being beside you.

Maybe those moments don't need to be dismissed simply because we can't explain all of them yet.

Maybe they deserve our curiosity.

Tradtional Medicine Learned By OBserving Living Systems

The Body. Plants. Animals. Nature.

It recognized patterns and relationships long before we had the ability to explain their mechanisms.

That vitalist way of thinking is quietly disappearing.

And with it, we risk losing something extraordinarily valuable.

WHAT IF WE OPENED THAT DOOR AGAIN?

I created this series to reopen that conversation for our horses.  To open channels of communication and treatment before they become lost.
